Salty Ramblings~
A place to come, sit, pull up a chair, and talk awhile
Sometimes it takes me a minute to connect the dots that the Lord has put before us. I have had two separate ministries for years that have overlapped each other: Bible Journaling and Salty Sidewalks. I have kept them separate and distinct--trying to feed into both ........and wearing myself out.
Very recently the Lord showed me that these two ministries are two sides of the same coin. Let me explain: Bible Journaling is the inner conversation- the personal relationship we have with the Lord. Salty Sidewalks is taking that inner conversation to the world. It is releasing our revelation with the understanding that it is for someone else. Inner conversation to outer manifestation. Sometimes it takes me a skinny minute to figure out that the Lord has a plan for growing us and growing His kingdom! With this in mind, I have absorbed the Bible Journaling aspect of this ministry in the Salty Sidewalks site. Right now we are working through the Psalms, one Psalm a week. There are weekly doodle sheets that can help you if you struggle with drawing. There are weekly videos to show you how I paint. There are doodle sheets you can transfer into the margins of your Bible. This is all free! No loops, no hidden agenda ---just growing together in the Lord with you! In the Fall we will start a live group once a week and we will create salt tags together- creativity meets community as we gather together and do this creative, God loving, life together. Till then- Be salty!!! On July 10th I took a mis-step on my stairs and broke all of the bones in my ankle and ripped and severed the tendon from the same, broken bones.
For three months I have been in a recliner not able to walk. Within the past week I have been granted freedom through a walking boot and a pair of crutches. It is slow going, but I AM going!!! Because of the injury, I was unable to get to my desk and to my computer. All of my ministries and outreach groups came to a slow trickle of "doing what I could". Today I am at my desk and delighted to be picking up the reigns again. Our little ministry here has had growing pains and heartache, but we continue on! For the world is made up of those that are hurting and desperate for a letter from their King. We salt the Earth for Him, depositing His love letters where His chosen will "happen" upon them. We leave our artwork, with the Gospel boldly proclaimed, in our supermarkets, libraries, rest stops and national parks. ----------->But that is not enough, it never was enough, because the hurt and the broken live in our churches and in our daily lives. Life is not easy and heartache is hard to swallow. Those that have known the personal relationship of their Savior for decades, get discouraged and lonely, and need a "love letter". We reach out to women in local churches and in conferences with no apology...because a cemented smile doesn't always mean "All is well with my soul" and Jesus is the only one that knows the heartache and brokeness that lives behind that fractured smile. We send leaks into the prisons, we hand them out to the homeless. They go in battered women's supply bags and they go to nightclubs where shooters open fire. They go to families that are hurting and grieving. They go, where He tells us to send them. We are Salty Sidewalks and we are ready to greet the new day and the assignments that the Lord puts before us with zeal and a reckless abandon to love His world. So how do you host a Salt Leak Party?
