Salt Leaks

AKA "Drop-off Pictures"
Salt Leak (v): An intentionally abandoned piece of artwork, that was lovingly handcrafted through divine inspiration.  It is left with the intent of  spreading the Gospel through the far corners of the Earth, and to remind God's chosen recipient that we serve a God who pays attention to our details.

Here are the salties at Levine Cancer Center! May these folks be blessed in all the ways of the Lord! The staff was thrilled! I am so joyous to the Almighty for bringing Lisa into my life to teach me these salties and so excited that people will be touched by God's word!

Leaks made from the Sympathy Cards that B. received when her mom passed on. What a beautiful way to recycle HOPE in our Savior <3

Dropped this salt leak yesterday at the grand opening of one of the biggest holiday warehouses in my area! I went back about an hour later and it was gone. I hope it blessed someone.

Sharing the Stories and Pictures of Salt Leaks

Hey fellow salt shakers! I wanted to share another idea for leaks. My mom and I had cut these stars out for a different project years ago and just didn't get around to it. So we took them and painted them and kept a few for ourselves, but leaked a few to others and have 3 more to give out! I'm praying about where they should go. But I just wanted to share another idea for leaks! Blessings!

"I made my first salt leak today, but I forgot to take a picture first. It is a painting I did a number of years ago and I made a little poem to go with it. The painting is of a girl in a white dress sitting in the grass. At her back it is daylight and the sun is shining. At her front it is nighttime, but a street lamp is shining on her face. The simple poem is: In darkest night or warm & bright, the light of His Love shines for you."

"I struggled with this one. I knew what I wanted to do as far as painting. My hand tremors kicked in right in the middle of doing it. It can be rather frustrating. And so...my crosses are not perfect. I think though that God is teaching me a lot through this. It's not perfection with the art. It's the message about Him THROUGH the art! That makes it all ok"

“I don’t think the way you think.
The way you work isn’t the way I work.”
        God’s Decree.
“For as the sky soars high above earth,
so the way I work surpasses the way you work,
and the way I think is beyond the way you think.
Just as rain and snow descend from the skies
and don’t go back until they’ve watered the earth,
Doing their work of making things grow and blossom,
producing seed for farmers and food for the hungry,
So will the words that come out of my mouth
    not come back empty-handed.
They’ll do the work I sent them to do,
they’ll complete the assignment I gave them.

Isaiah 55:11

I made my first "salt leak" today! I was kind of nervous doing it though. I had purchased a wood door from Michaels craft store a while ago to use in a art group challenge. I actually left my salt leak at the same store where I bought it...on a table in the store
".....
just made my first salty sidewalk art...waiting and listening to see where God would have me share them:)) thank you for this outlet to share Jesus with the world:))"

"My first salt leak! It's on a piece of tile from Habitat. Leaving in hospital waiting area later today...praying it brings joy to the finder."

"I told my writers group about Salty Sidewalks and everyone was so excited we decided to do something similar, leaving leaks of encouraging words in public places."

My first Salty Sidewalks project! Tissue pack covers, in case you are wondering what is inside! smile emoticon Took about 10 min. to make out of scrap fabric and old buttons! I knew I was saving those buttons all these years for some reason! I presented SS to our senior adults yesterday at our weekly fellowship meeting and had 6 ladies sign up to help spread the gospel through SS! Praising Him today! Praying for all my sisters (and brothers) who are helping in this awesome outreach!

Hey friends. I did the backgrounds on these three little tags last night. I was going out this morning to do some errands, but before I left, I heard a little God whisper. I'm so thankful He does that for us! I felt compelled to finish them before I left. I ended up mailing one to a friend, abandoning one at Walgreens in my hometown, and handing one to the girl at the window at Dunkin Donuts, also in my hometown!
Turned out to be a total of 415!!!!!! We divided them up between safe houses, food banks, military hospital, nursing homes and have a couple bags waiting for God to say, "go there"  In response to this generous outpouring of creative love, one of our members said, "I'm inspired just looking at all these what a blessing and so much care put into them. I pray the kingdom grows and lives are changed in big God ways. Thank you for your servant hearts"

My contribution as part of the Salty Sidewalks workshop group at Thomas Road Baptist Church. As posted by ....... these will be distributed though various Christmas and church outreaches.
Some of the non-floral, bolder color bookmarks seem suitable for men.

Alrighty, my husband and I got some more leaks done tonight. Please be praying they bring hope that's eternal to the recipients. I'm working on some geared to men soon also. Please post your pictures of your leaks so I can get some ideas! I love seeing everyone's creativity come out and pray over your leaks as well! Blessings!

This past weekend, at a retreat called, "A Place Called Abundance" , SS was able to gift the participants of the retreat...And...to provide salt leaks for 60 bags filled with hope. The idea? Each participant was to take 1-2 bags and hit the streets, with a mission of abundance for the least of these. His hands and feet reaching out into our communities, the Gospel sprouting feet, while His Gospel of truth was tucked inside the bags, through SS. Yay God! Lord, we pray for each person that receives a bag, that they would know of Your abundant love and care.

These two pictures represent faith. I have always been fascinated by looking at the sky and truly believing that our God created all this. I like to wonder what else is out in the universe, only by staring at the stars

Regard prisoners as if you were in prison with them. Look on victims of abuse as if what happened to them had happened to you.....Hebrews 13:3
" It's such a blessing to be a part of this fantastic ministry. Praying that God will continue to bless, increase in numbers, passion, direction, and guidance. Praying for every one of our recipients as well. God promises us that His word will NEVER come back void. If we don't hear back from our recipients, press on friends. God sees all and is touching hearts even though we may not be able to fully see it. Love you all and bless you in all of your 'salty' endeavors too!!!"

"I just came back from my neighborhood nursing home (a block from my house), they would love us to make things to pass out to their residents! They have 43 residents in there now."

Good morning. I had a ... appt. yesterday with a new doctor ... I was able to leave 2 salt leaks there. We had to leave my home at noon, so I was kind of scrambling to put prayer/Scripture cards together because I really felt a nudge from God that I was supposed to do this. Then, this ugly thing creeped in. Do you ever feel like you've created a lousy piece of work? At this point, I've made multiple prayer/Scripture cards and had been happy with the results on many. I struggled big time with these, and part of it was because of hand tremors I sometimes get. I looked at these 8 cards I felt God wanted me to give out, and to be frank, I wanted to toss them out and start over. There was no time for that, however. I use computer print outs of the verses if my hands are shaking, but of course, my printer wouldn't cooperate, and the words weren't legible. The paint was too thick to write over, but the backs of the cards were just simple cardstock. I prayed about what verses to use on each pack, so I decided to handwrite the verses on the back. I also included a note with these, which I have not previously done. The funny thing is that I altered trivia cards. ...I think it's very easy to get caught up in only posting the work you've done that comes out the way you wanted it to. I don't want to fall into that trap. When God leads, He leads. Whether my painting is great or not. I hope maybe this encourages someone here as well. Yes, we all strive for our best, but that doesn't mean that God requires perfection OR that He cannot use art that's not how you planned it to be. I left one set of cards sticking out of a magazine in the doctor's office. I also overheard a secretary being terribly insulted in front of others. Ironically, she ended up being the person to set up my next appt. Without hesitation, I handed her the second set of cards and said...Merry Christmas...I made this for you. She did look a bit stunned! It was fun though. SO sorry...I did try taking pics with the Salty tags attached, but they didn't come out well, but they were on there!!"  Editors note: YAY GOD!!!

"These fall into the "encouraging words" I suppose more than artwork, but decided to recycle some photos from an old calendar and then that inspired the card with the full Psalm 23. Salty Leaks ready for this coming weekend when I'll be meeting with the family at PF Changs --"
