Praying Over Our Ministry Today!

Today I pray over our little group, peace and unity. I pray against the schemes of the enemy that would discourage and dismantle our Godly intentions. I pray that each hand, that is crafting works to be released, would be blessed abundantly. I pray that no weapon formed against us would prosper and that the Lord continues to multiply His efforts through our willing hearts and hands.
I pray for unity and focus, with malignant distractions falling to the wayside as we approach a new day.  I pray that our hearts and our hands, our mouths and our ears, would only offer the fruits of the Spirit- quieting and binding the malignant fruits of the flesh.  We declare this Holy Ground, with an expectation of a Holy Encounter through a burning bush, evident in the changes of our hearts. Inhabit this ministry and this ground, Lord Jesus.
Amen and Amen!  We ask Lord for you to be the presence and the love that we get to share with the world. <3

Salting His Women This Weekend in TN!

Why do we Salt the Encouragement Cafe Conferences?  Because we all need encouragement from time to time. His word says,11 Therefore encourage and comfort one another and build up one another, just as you are doing." 1Thes5:11
We all need time to refresh and renew.  We all need time in His presence- away from daily responsibilities.  Because being saved doesn't mean that it will be easy. Because being saved means it may be harder.  Because we need a Savior- no matter how long we have been walking on a path - we need a Savior every minute and every day.
We get to love on women that are coming into conferences, retreats, concerts and events- women that are looking to have a divine appointment - a date, set aside, with their Savior. WE GET to give them His love letter.
Aren't we the lucky ones?  To be His hands and feet, and....His heart.

Join with me in prayer as we seek to minister to His sheep this weekend? Saved, not saved. Hot mess or the  pristine---> it makes no difference to Him, He loves us all the same!

So how do you host a Salt Leak Party?
Intention: Spreading the Gospel Through the Arts.
Mission: To bless the maker and the receiver through time in His Word.
Time needed: 3 hours
Supplies: Everyone chip in and bring supplies, or ask for a nominal donation to offset costs.
I bring everything to my parties, and trust the Lord will bless me with supplies on the flip side!
Recommended: Playing cards and pages from old books- minimal cost.
Elmers glue watered down 1part water  to 3 parts glue.
Paint
Brushes
Makers to write with
With this bare minimum you can make hundreds of leaks in a few hours.
Assembly line of production:
I set up a few "gluers" - there are always a few that dont want to be creative, would rather glue. Everyone can find something to do!
Few Painters - paint the base coats on
few embellishers- paint the texture on, bubble wrap, cardboard etc.
Few finshers , glue down scriptures, write words. etc.
We usually organize a lunch, eliciousness in crock pots.
Ba.BAM- you just had your first Salt Party!!!

Testimony from Dear Friend&Member, Carol Jean! - written by K.Reed

4/1/2016

Comments

This week, I have asked our sweet Salty Sidewalks member, Carol Jean Blakely to share her testimony with us.  She is very active in the ministry and has contributed her artwork to ladies conferences, as well as an untold amount of projects.  She is a gem!  She has such a heart for people to come to know our wonderful Savior, and her work is ALWAYS rooted in love and prayer.  As I read her story, I was weeping.  I believe her story will inspire you and encourage you!  Thank you, Carol Jean, for opening your heart to us. I am including some photos she sent me.  I often ask her how she is able to make so many salt leaks!  These photos, I believe, give a snapshot into her process.  I am beyond grateful for the ways in which God has knitted our little group together.  Carol Jean, please know that I believe behind the scenes, that God is working mightily through the gifts that you are so willing to give to Him.  You are cherished, and you serve as such a wonderful Godly example both to me, and to so many others!  <3

"After serving over 20 years as missionaries in Tanzania, East Africa, my husband and I were not allowed to return because of my husband's health.  To say the least, we were not very happy and I questioned God - 'God, You call a lot of people to go somewhere else to share Your story and they won't or don't go.  Here we are, we know the people, know the language, know the culture, love it and are doing what You called us to do, and now we can't go back.  WHY?'  Well, needless to say, we didn't get an answer then.
So, we became involved in our local church and began to settle in.  But in our 50's and coming to the technology age rather late, the job market was not very good.  Being somewhat crafty (in a good way), I had a couple of craft booths and did craft shows.  In the beginning, it was very good, but as the Chinese imports got better and better, it was difficult to compete price-wise and many crafters dropped out.
Since I had always been involved in ministry, I found myself with an empty feeling in the midst of my usual busyness.  A prison ministry needed volunteer help putting Christmas packets together for their inmate students.  Our Sunday School class volunteered.  As non-profits are always looking for volunteers, I agreed to work one day a week. Exodus Prison Ministry is a correspondence course for inmates with over 3,200 students.  As is often the case with our volunteers, I had found my spot.  Except for that first week of working one day, I have worked 4 days a week for almost 9 years, all on a volunteer basis.  I became office manager and then last year, when the director retired, became the director of the ministry.  Using my God-given organizational skills and creativity, I began to streamline, making our operation more efficient and using our donated funds more effectively.
Prison life is drab and colorless, and one of the things I did (about 7 years ago) was introduce color by including bright inserts.  About 3 years ago, I began to make little bookmarks and tags to include in each set of lessons going out - about 450 every Friday.  So I began at night, making backgrounds to hundreds of tags, printing Scriptures and encouraging words on paper and labels, so I could make the number of tags we would need every week. And to paraphrase the song – I was making salt leaks (pieces of art or crafts with Scripture) before making them was cool. When I had about 2,000 we began to put them in every set of lessons.
Then, through a Bible journaling site, I learned about Lisa Albinus, founder of the Salty Sidewalks ministry.  I now had a way to stockpile tags for use in ladies conferences and many other places.  They were much more fun.  The prisons will not allow heavily painted or glued on things, no ribbons and the other things we use to make our tags pretty.  But I could adapt my prison tags idea to ones for Salty Sidewalks, and I have done that.
Cut-up boxes, junk mail, used greeting cards, gesso, paint, markers, pages from song books and old tattered Bibles, maps, and ribbons all come together for my tags.  And as I am still doing for the prison tags, I can make lots of backgrounds, lots of printed words, and turn out a lot of tags.
The prison ministry has filled that ministry spot in my life and the tags for my ministry there, and for Salty Sidewalks has filled the creativity spot I so badly needed.
I never doubted God had a plan - just wasn't sure why or how - but He did, and I can only thank Him for the opportunities He has given me.  As well as for finding the Salty Sidewalk community, and the support and love that is shared.
In the front of my journaling Bible is the Scripture Exodus 35:31-33:
“And He has filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills-- to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood and to engage in all kinds of artistic crafts”.
And this is my prayer for all of us-that God will inspire artists with creativity and wisdom that reflect God’s beauty; that they will seek God, and that their work will bring strength, goodness, and hope to others, and glory to His name".

Inhabit the Nations

Isaiah 54:3 "For you will spread aboard to the right hand and to the left; and your offspring will possess the nations and make the desolate cities to be inhabited."
What promises scripture intends for us! I love the image of the Gospel spreading abroad and that generation after generation will possess the nations. I think we can all agree that our nations need to bend their knee and turn back to God.
This is our Father's business in Salty Sidewalks- to spread His message into a dying, desolate world. For us to inhabit cities for the Lord -children of God, spreading His love and His message of salvation.
May every one be blessed today with productivity, grace, mercy and divine appointments

Enlarge The Place of Your Tent

Todays Scripture: Isaiah 54: 2 "Enlarge the place of your tent , and let the curtain of your habitation be stretched out; spare not: lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes."
This scripture speaks to me of preparation as He prepares to stretch our boundaries and increase His family. We aren't just making things...we are preparing the way into the inner courtroom of His heart - as we let the curtain of our habitation be stretched out over the land. Let us lengthen our sphere of influence, while keeping our "stakes" firmly planted in Him.
I have a friend who is expecting any day now, for months they have prepared their house and their hearts to hold their little lamb. How do we prepare our hearts and our homes for those "children" that the Lord crosses our paths with? Do we have time in our schedule to invite them into our dwelling place, the dwelling place of the Lord? The word says "spare not" are we willing to sacrifice time and talent in order raise up a new generation of Christians? Let us lengthen the cords of our hearts as we allow the Lord to intersect our lives with heavenly appointments.

Reflections Isaiah:54

1/4/2016

Spiritual children, isn't that what we are doing, planting seeds...praying they germinate and conceive? I would like to take the next month or so and look at Isaiah: Chapter 54 and reflect, as a group....Scripture for today: "Sing, O barren one, you who did not bear; break forth into singing and cry aloud, you who did not travail with child! For the spiritual children of the desolate one will be more than the children of the married wife, says the Lord"
I have a dear friend who never had a child, though it was the greatest desire of her heart. She has bore countless women and is the spiritual mother to so many- though her arms would still ache to hold her own tender one.
We will be considering spiritual children and our role in raising up His children , helping them find the frequency of His heart. "We aren't just making things..." we are finding His children and leading His lambs home to Him.
May each leak made today, and each leak left, bear a powerful witness to The One we serve and the faithfulness of our God. For those who have longed to have children, I pray a blessing upon you and the spiritual children you disciple now, may your quiver be ever full of future generations...thank you for your service and your love in raising up the family of Christ.

A Year of Multiplication

1/3/2016

What would you say if I told you that your artwork can have eternal impact for the Kingdom?  This little grassroots ministry has grown by leaps and bounds, so that it is a world-wide ministry now.
This year, we have the chance to provide 5,000+ women a salt leak (a piece of artwork that contains the Gospel) at the Encouragement Cafe (Joy FM) Conferences.  FIVE THOUSAND women that we can pray over and into.  How cool is it that Jesus fed 5000 with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. WE have a need for 5000 salt leaks- with a lot more willing hearts than 5 fish and 2 loaves of bread. The number is big, the need is great-----but, will you join me in believing that Jesus wants to feed His women this year on the salt of His word and the gift of His truth and salvation? Believe with me- this year - in the miracle of the loaves and fishes.
WE have an encouraging group on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1482221002022097/

This is the year of multiplication- we need your creative energy and your passion for the Gospel- join us for the miracle of loaves and fishes!!!
